NZLPE Sampler Course
Course ID ZI251_S
Most overseas practitioners who are seeking admission to the High Court of New Zealand are required to pass all or part of the six-part NZLPE. The examination is run by the New Zealand Council of Legal Education.
The College of Law provides the only preparation course designed to assist NZLPE candidates.
To help you decide whether the College of Law’s NZLPE prep course will assist you in preparing for and passing the NZLPE, we have put together this Sampler. It consists of three modules, one from each of three of the six subjects in the NZLPE:
- Part 2 Contract – Module 3: Additional requirements for a valid contract (including minors’ contracts and electronic transactions)
- Part 4 Property – Module 3: Priorities between instruments, and caveats
- Part 5 Torts – Module 1: Introduction to the Accident Compensation Act 2001
These modules should give you a good idea of what to expect from the College of Law’s course. Each subject covers one Part of the NZLPE and is available separately.
Modules within subjects follow the same model:
- there are module notes, dealing with the particular aspect of the law under discussion
- all the cases, legislation and articles listed in the NZLPE Prescription for that aspect of the particular subject are linked in the particular module
- we provide links to past exams going back to 2004, and
- most modules also have a quiz as a way for you to check that you have grasped the essentials of the module.
We also provide students with access to online resources such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis, and the College of Law library.
If you have any questions, please email enquiries@collaw.ac.nz and put “NZLPE” in the subject line.
